The Humboldt Beacon welcomes original Letters to the Editor concerning Humboldt County events, issues, and opinions. Preference is given to Eel River valley topics, but we will print letters dealing with any part of Humboldt County. Make all letter submissions by e-mail, with 'Letter to the Editor' in the subject line. Letters without first and last names and city or origin will not be printed. There is a 450 word limit. While we discourage hand-written and non e-mailed letters, correspondence can me sent to:

*Also, to be considered for publication, letters must be 450 words or less and must include the writer's true name, with residence address and phone number for verification. Only the name and hometown will be printed.

*Letters must carry the full, legible name of the writer. All letters are subject to editing for clarity and length at the discretion of the editor. To give everyone an opportunity to participate, writers are limited to one letter every 30 days.

*Letters addressed to specific parties rather than all Humboldt Beacon readers, letters from other publications, form letters that do not contain original writing content by the signatory and personal complaints outside the public domain are not published.
