A man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly hitting a woman on the head with a dog ball thrower.
David Cramer, 56, was booked in Placer County Jail after being arrested Saturday. He later bailed out of jail.
Auburn police said that they responded to a dog park Thursday to investigate a report that a man had struck woman after the two had a disagreement over how their dogs were interacting with each other.
Cramer was alleged to have struck the woman on the head with a plastic dog ball thrower, a device with an elongated handle used to fling a tennis ball long distances for games of fetch.
Police interviewed several witnesses before Cramer was arrested on Saturday.
