Baywood Golf and Country Club is holding its 2008 Baywood Junior Golf Clinic from Thursday, June 19 through Saturday, June 21.
The three-day clinic costs $30 and is open to junior golfers of all levels, both members and non-members of Baywood; participants must be at least 6 years old. Classes for beginning golfers run from 2 to 3 p.m. Classes for beginning and intermediate golfers run from 3 to 4 p.m.
The classes, which will be taught by golf professionals Greg Henderson and Greg Bean, are designed to help improve both knowledge and skill of the game. The courses will include basic instruction in the golf swing, putting, chipping and an overview of the fundamental rules and etiquette.
The first day of the clinic will be focused on the putter, 7 and 9 irons, as well as the pitching wedge and sand wedge. This day will include the fundamentals of putting, chipping, and pitching with individual help on all shots.
The second day of the clinic will focus on the 7 and 5 irons, including set-up, backswing, weight shift, downswing, release, and finish. The last day of the clinic will focus on woods and will cover set-up, fairway woods, drivers, and finally, a review of the common rules of golf.
