Linebacker Reuben Foster, almost two weeks removed from his rookie season on the 49ers, got arrested Friday for marijuana possession in Alabama, according to AL.com.
Foster was charged with second-degree marijuana possession in Tuscaloosa, home of his alma mater, the University of Alabama. Bond was $2,500, AL.com reported.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Office’s online arrest database took down a posting of Foster’s arrest and mug shot later Friday night, apparently after he posted bond.
"The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Reuben Foster and we are currently gathering all relevant facts," a team spokesman said.
Last year’s 31st overall draft pick in the first round, Foster finished as the 49ers second-leading tackler despite missing half the season with injuries. He was the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month in November.
