HOUSTON — Right tackle Trent Brown won’t play against the Houston Texans, thrusting Zane Beadles into the 49ers starting lineup for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s encore.
Brown missed the Nov. 26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks because of a shoulder injury but returned last Sunday and played the entirety of the 49ers’ 15-14 win at Chicago.
Brown practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday’s session.
Beadles, named Brown’s replacement in the Texans’ pregame notes, started at left guard in the season opener before heading to the bench. He came in as an injury replacement at both left and right tackle in an Oct. 29 loss at Philadelphia.
The 49ers’ other option at tackle are Darrell Williams was promoted from the practice squad on Nov. 4 and has appeared in three games, taking only one offensive snap in place of Joe Staley.
