A state of the art Electronic Health Records system is replacing the existing paper files and charts currently used by the clinic's staff. A complete overhaul of the clinic's workflow is in the works as part of the EHR implementation. Newly trained MA (Medical Assistant) and front desk staff will be added as well, according to the release.
In addition, a new and expanded health care provider team led and supervised by Dr. Ruben E. Brinckhaus, M.D., will bring mid-level providers from Southern Trinity Health Services' staff of physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants. Dr. Julie Bussman, Ph.D., Southern Trinity's Licensed Clinical Psychologist, will also be providing expanded service hours at the Scotia Bluffs clinic. Certified Physician Assistants Michael Kays, Family Nurse Practitioner Pat Farmer, Certified Physician Assistant James Tinkelenberg, and Certified Physician Assistant Christine McMillan will be providing direct patient services as well, according to the release.
The Scotia Bluffs Clinic is part of Southern Trinity Health Services FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) network and will provide access to health care regardless of ability to pay, according to the release. The center will accept most insurance plans and will bill patients' insurance companies. The center is a preferred provider for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and a provider for Medi-Cal, Medicare, the County Medical Services Program, CHDP, and workers' compensation. The center also offers a sliding fee discount for self-pay patients. Southern Trinity Health Services is a private non-profit 501(c) (3) licensed as a Community Health Center.
