An argument between three men in Fortuna on Saturday night resulted in the arrest of four, police officials said.

According to the Fortuna Police Department, Marcus McCain, Michael Sorden, Mark Shelton and William Richard Brown were all booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on various charges.

McCain was charged with possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a drug house, driving on a suspended license and probation violation.

Sorden faces charges of resisting arrest, providing false identification to a police officer, possession of a Taser by a felon and parole violation.

Shelton was charged with possession of a controlled substance and Brown faces possession of stolen property and forgery charges.

The four were arrested after officers responded to a report of an argument at a residence on the 300 block of North Fortuna Boulevard at about 8:39 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers found Shelton, Brown and Sorden inside the home and, moments later, McCain -- the home owner -- arrived on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Officers found McCain to be on probation for narcotics-related offenses and a search was conducted. Officers found a bindle of suspected methamphetamine close to McCain and a probation search was done on the residence.

Inside, officers found approximately four grams of suspected meth, drug paraphernalia, a Taser, stolen property and forged and altered checks. Said checks were reported to the department as stolen two weeks ago.
