Authorities arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing a fellow concertgoer in Arcata on Saturday.

At 12:17 a.m., Arcata police officers were dispatched to the Arcata Theatre Lounge following a report of a male being stabbed during a concert attended by several hundred people, according to a department press release.

The victim underwent surgery at Mad River Community Hospital, and is in stable condition, according to Arcata police. He was able to talk to investigators.

Law enforcement quickly identified Eddy Armando Samayoa, 29, as suspect from video surveillance in the theater, the release said. He was found by concert security personnel near the stage area.

Samayoa was taken into custody without further injury to other concert patrons, and transferred to the Humboldt County jail. He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
