The Fortuna Chamber of Commerce will be holding their 2nd annual Fortuna's Favorites event in place of their January mixer. The event will be held at the Fortuna River Lodge today, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $15 per person or $20 per couple. The ticket will cover three beverage tastings and samples from all of the vendors.

Vendors will include Doris & Daughter Catering, Moonlight Catering, Springville Steak, MGC, Dakota's Designs, Emme and Elle, Eel River Brewery, Bartows Jewelers, McLean Foundation, Beverage Plus, Strehls, Rosina's Winery, Fortuna Feed, Country Rose, Quality Antiques, Littles Boutique, Fortuna Dog Park, HealthSPORT, and Miranda's Rescue.

There will be a fashion show provided by Glamorous Boutique, KiDiLiCiouS, and 5 O'clock Shadow. The show will feature clothing for all ages.

”I created this event,” said new Fortuna chamber board member Tiara Brown. “It is kind of my baby. The chamber does so much good in Fortuna and we were running in a deficit when I came on to the board. So I made it one of my goals to get us into the black. Also, it's a great way to show potential members why they should be a part of this amazing organization. We created this event as a fundraiser for the chamber, but also think it benefits our members.”

The event is open to the public and those in attendance will be able to vote for “People's Choice.” Fortuna Wells Fargo's Brian Gonzales said, “We are donating a Fire and Light engraved award for the People's Choice.”

Chamber members and Board members will be on hand at the event to answer questions and get new member information to perspective members.

”This is a great chance to come out and visit with friends old and new while seeing what great things our community has to offer,” Brown said. “As a business it is a way to share information and utilize the great resources within our community and discover more about what the Chamber can do for you and your business.”

Last year's event drew 15 vendors and 75 attendees. Already the event has drawn about 20 vendors and a much higher attendance is expected. For more information on the event, contact Tiara Brown at 502-8018.
