Families Advocating Autism Now will be holding a Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Fortuna Rohner Park Fireman's Pavilion from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their immediate family members.
FAAN will be providing food, drinks, candy, and lots of fun activities for all ages to enjoy. Participants are encouraged to wear a costume, skate, dance, or do whatever strikes their fancy.
FAAN provides education and tools to local educators to promote greater learning for students with autism. Their dedication does not stop there as they have several movie nights, gatherings, and events such as this Halloween party throughout the year to provide opportunity for positive activities and community.
FAAN is a 501(c)3 non-profit group which consists of all parents of children with autism.
”We want to raise awareness and support for the education system in serving children with autism,” co-founding member Fatima Naylor said.
The group is currently seeking to expand its board.
”We are looking for board members who believe in our mission and want to assist us in making more strides within our community,” co-founding member Emily Lewis said.
Board members must be able to attend monthly board meetings, provide support for fundraisers, and attend social activities.
