South Fortuna Elementary School is holding their annual carnival on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. “Snack shack”-style dinner will be available in the cafeteria from 5 to 8 p.m. and will help support the eighth grade class trip.
There will be games throughout the school and a raffle for themed gift baskets. The games will range from cake and book walks to prizes.
The carnival committee is still seeking themed basket donations. Kindergarten and first grade are collecting items to create movie and game night baskets. Second grade is creating baskets based off of the chocolate theme while third grade is keeping the energy going with coffee and tea baskets. Wrapping up the themed baskets is the fourth grade with plants and gardening just in time for the changing weather in spring.
Raffle tickets are 3 for $1 or 35 for $10 and can be purchased at the South Fortuna Elementary School Office along with carnival tickets which are priced at 5 for $1 in presale and 4 for $1 at the event.
During the carnival there will be music by Steven Couch in the courtyard. There will be yummy treats of cotton candy and snow cones to help keep the energy up and raise funds for school needs.
The carnival is organized by the South Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. The money will be used to fund field trips, classroom supplies, running club incentives, and largely a new playground in the main playground area.
For more information or to see how you can donate and get tickets, contact Mrs. Walker in the South Elementary School office at 725-2519.
