Applications are now available for a $500 scholarship awarded by the Fortuna Garden Club to a senior in the Fortuna Union High School District. The scholarship will go to a senior who is planning on pursuing a major in horticulture, botany, landscaping, or other plant related major at a two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and must submit, with their application, a transcript and two letters of recommendation. Applications are available from the high school counselor or agriculture teachers, and are due May 1, to be sent to the Fortuna Garden Club at P.O. Box 212, Fortuna, CA 95540.
