Second District Supervisor Estelle Fennell kicked off her new office hours in Fortuna this past Thursday at the Fortuna Veterans Building. Fennel says she hopes to increase accessibility to the public so more issues can be heard and hopefully resolved.
Fennell has been holding office hours in Garberville on Thursdays with a great response. Fennell wanted to reach out and become more available to her district and came up with what she calls her “field day.”
”I want people to know I am here and available to discuss issues and that I will try and resolve what we can,” Fennell said.
The first day of office hours in Fortuna saw a line at the door to see Fennell.
”This is such a great thing for the district,” Fortuna Chamber of Commerce CEO Erin Dunn said. “It is very exciting.”
Fennell had her first appointment in the Fortuna location with Fortuna Cemetery District Chairman Ross Rowley and Charlie Gianinni, vice chairman.
”There was a steady flow of traffic about every half hour,” Fennell said. “I think there is a lot of interest and success in having these hours available.”
Fennell will be holding office hours every Thursday at the Fortuna Veterans Memorial Building, 1426 Main St., from 9 a.m. to noon and in Garberville in the county office on 709 Cedar St. behind the library from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
For more information or to set up an appointment during these office hours contact Fennell at 476-2392 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
