The only store in the Eel River valley that purveys Earth-friendly, sustainable products and apparel just moved to 1201 Main Street from it's old haunt at 750 10th Street. In its second year of existence, the Green Living Center sells locally made soaps, herbal supplements, chlorine traps (filters) for sinks, water-based nail polish, bamboo towels and robes, Mazzotti's herb butter, Rita's Salsa, Signature Coffee, kitchen composters, and products made of spun bamboo. But the list goes on.

Owner Bill Thorington said that since they moved to their new location, walk-through traffic has practically tripled. A special ribbon cutting ceremony with the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce has been set for Aug. 2, and on Aug. 7, a Grand Opening will take place. For details on the store, call 725-4455, or go to www.greenlivingstore.net.
