Dear Editor,

On behalf of St. Joseph and Redwood Memorial hospitals, I would like to thank everyone involved in the annual Health and Resource Fair, which was held Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Bayshore Mall in Eureka.

The event was once again a huge success, attracting large number of community residents who took the opportunity to ask health care questions, receive free health screenings and learn more about services available here locally in Humboldt County.

St. Joseph and Redwood Memorial hospitals partnered with 40 nonprofit community organizations and county agencies, as well as 15 local businesses to provide up-to-date health information and information on a variety of health-related services. This event not only provides great opportunity to reach out to our most vulnerable community members, but also the opportunity to highlight all the stellar organizations we are so blessed to have here in Humboldt County.

We would like to thank everyone who helped put together this year's health fair and those who attended, as well as the North Coast Community Center's team for set-up and take-down of the event. Also, this year the Humboldt Waste Management Authority graciously provided both recycling and garbage receptacles for the event.

Special thanks to Sue Swanson, Kevin Doerner and the Bayshore Mall staff for being great hosts and for again providing the perfect venue for this important outreach event.
