1. St. Patrick's Parish in Scotia

2. Campton Heights Baptist Church, Fortuna

The Campton Heights Baptist Church is affiliated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. They are a Bible believing, evangelical, spiritually conservative, independent congregation.

The church has classes and activities for all ages, including nursery care. On the second Saturday of each month, men of the church get together at 7:30 a.m. for a breakfast. The pastor at Campton Heights Baptist Church is Mike Schellenberg. They are located at 1655 Cecil Ave., Fortuna.

3. St. Francis Episcopal Church, Fortuna offering prayer services in song during Advent

St. Francis' Episcopal Church, 16th and L Streets in Fortuna will offer Marty Haugen's Holden Evening Prayer, accompanied by Dana Christen, piano, and Helen Winfrey, clarinet. Take a break from shopping and stress through the beauty of sung prayer On Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m., and for three following Wednesdays. All are welcome. 4. Fortuna United Methodist Church

Sunday, Nov. 27, begins the Advent Season where God seeks to enter the world with light and hope.

Pastor Ted Pecot will be preaching from Isaiah 64: 1-9. The children are working on a reader's theatre, The Quilt Maker's Gift, which they will be presenting Dec. 18 at the 10 a.m. service. The adult class will begin reviewing the book, “The Walk,” by Richard Paul Evans this Sunday and invites others to join them. The Bible Seeker's class will be holding their monthly baked goods sale after the church service. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. Child care is provided. The Fortuna United Methodist Church is located at 10th and N streets.

5. Goings on at Rohnerville Assembly of God

Pastors Dawson and Jeanette Wheeler attended their final service last Sunday. We'll miss them much but wish them well in their new home in Turlock and in their evangelism ministry. They are seeking your financial support for their travels. Meanwhile, the Rev. Dee Neher will act as interim pastor.

Thursday's Morning Prayer and Share Ladies meet at 10:30 a.m., led by Linda Mason. They are continuing with videos in the Beth Moore series, “Summoned from the Sheepfold.”

Men's Thursday night Bible study at 7 p.m. will be held in the sanctuary. Sunday school for all ages is offered at 9:30 a.m.

Linda Mason will lead the adults class in Jean Nichols' absence. Happy Thanksgiving in Arizona Jean! Class is conducted in the sanctuary studying God's priorities and values in the practice of whole-life stewardship. The key verse is I Corinthians 10:30 "Whether ye eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God". We'll meet and greet at 10:30 a.m., followed by worship in song led by Mike Gibbs.

The Church opens at 5:30 p.m., for private prayer. 6 p.m. service with will begin with congressional worship in song followed by sermon and testimonies.

Tuesday 2 p.m., the Quilting Ladies will meet in the Sewing Room.

Wednesday 7 p.m., Bible study will continue in the Book of Luke, led by Interim Pastor, Rev. Neher. Karen Nichols will treat the kids to Likeable Learning in Kids Club.

6. Seventh-day Adventists recreate live nativity scenes

Fortuna's annual drive-thru living nativity celebrates its 10th year on Dec. 10 and 11 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the parking lot between the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Community Services Center in Fortuna. Nine stunning scenes portray the birth of Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation. This event started in 2002 with three scenes on a very stormy weekend. Three more scenes were added in 2003. The final three scenes were added in 2007. This community event commands a cast and crew of around 100 volunteers of all ages from various congregations. Actors don period costumes and portray each scene through still-life acting, remaining virtually immobile for half an hour at a time. Spectators don't need to leave the comfort of their cars for the free drive-thru event. Some viewers find it difficult to take it all in the first time and often drive through more than once. 7. Christ Lutheran Church, Fortuna

Christ Lutheran Church women will be hosting their annual Advent Luncheon on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 12:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held in Luther Hall at Christ Lutheran Church, 2132 Smith Lane, Fortuna.

The cost of the lunch is $12 and will be catered by Lori Cook. The guest speaker will be Sean Swanson, Founder of River Life Foundation.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Choral Artist, a group of singers from Fortuna High School music program. The proceeds from the luncheon will be donated to River Life Foundation to help them "to continue to be a hopeful organization by being a light to those in need.” Reservation deadline is Nov. 26. 8. Fortuna Church of the Nazarene

Vic Ward will preaching at the 9:30 a.m. services at Fortuna Church of the Nazarene which opens with contemporary music and congressional singing. We invite all to come join us in our study of Psalms 5:11-12, "But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your Name may rejoice.”

Fellowship Dinners are Wednesday Night at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by Bible Study with classes for adults couples and Jackie Lipscomb the ladies group.
