Formed in 2005 out of the Bay area, the psychedelic soul-rock six-piece that is Monophonics will bring their funky goodness to the Jambalaya in Arcata. Folks who head down to the Riverwood Inn in SoHum this Wednesday night will get to check out some Canadian rockabilly-western-swing. Petunia and the Vipers will pack a pleasant-yet-venomous sing-and-sting that'll leave attendees begging for more.

Bluesy and jazzy LA singer-songwriter Candye Kane will take her tunes back to the Riverwood Inn on Friday night. It'll be fun to check out the gal who's befriended and shared the stage with bands like Black Flag, Social Distortion and The Circle Jerks.

What: Queer Bill's Red Party -- A Queer Friday Night Dance Party

When: 10 p.m. Friday

Where: Nocturnum, 206 W. Sixth St., Eureka

Admission: $5, 21+

Be sure to nab your red outfits and party gear for a dance-floor-filling wild night -- this Friday night at Nocturnum will be a scene from a Crip's nightmare. Friday's Queer Bill Red Party welcomes everyone. The evening will feature the soundscape of DJ 360. Dance it up!

Jamaica-born Sister Carol moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. with her family when she was 14 and has been putting out reggae albums since 1983. Also known as “Black Cinderella” or “Mother Culture,” the Grammy-nominated star has even spent some time touring with The Meditations, Bob Marley's vocal harmony backup group.
