The Lost Coast Kennel Club held their judging program over the weekend. The program, "The Friendly Shows," included an unbenched all-breed dog show, obedience trial and rally trial.
LCKC held the American Kennel Club licensed show at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds where vendors, dog lovers, and competitors filled the fairgrounds with a variety of food, products, and prepping stations.
The LCKC is made up of officers and board members. Currently the president is Beverly Morgan Lewis. Jill Otto is vice president, Kris Smith is secretary and Sandra Gould keeps the books for the Humboldt-based group.
The officers of LCKC are supported by a three-member board of Sara Borok, Deb St. Myers, and Emily Dalton.
"We strive to protect and advance all pure-bred dogs, to do all in our power to protect and advance the interest of all breeds of pure-bred dogs and mixed breed dogs registered with the American Kennel Club's Canine Partners Program, and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials, and other events under the rules of the American Kennel Club, and to provide education and exhibitions concerning dog ownership, care training, and recreation to the local community," reads a statement on the group's website.
LCKC holds their meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month except December, with general membership meetings beginning at 7 a.m. Meetings are held at the Adorni Center located at 1011 Waterfront Drive, Eureka in January, March, May, July, September, and November. February, April, June, August, and October meetings are held at the Clubhouse at the Meadows located at 2520-2590 Hubbard Lane in Eureka.
