The man suspected of fatally shooting Zackery Jacob Chapman in Garberville on April 16 was arrested in Arizona today.
U.S. Marshals Service officers have been involved in the search for Benjamin Jasper Carter, wanted on suspicion of homicide and arson. Carter was considered to be armed and dangerous and his arrest warrant bail as set at $1.25 million. He was found in Lake Havasu City and taken into custody by local law enforcement there.
"He's in custody there and awaiting extradition," Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Lt. Wayne Hanson said. "We will release more information soon."
