HealthSPORT gymnasts have been stepping up their game with a new gym for regular classes and training. Recently members of the team traveled to the Nor Cal State Championship and had great success.
The team consisted of Level 3, 4, 5, and Xcel competitors from HealthSPORT Fortuna.
Candence Lommori received a 9.5 on the bars for second place, 9.125 for third place on the bars and an overall score of 36.875 to give her second place as the All-Around Champion Level 3 gymnast in Northern California.
Rosalie Gonzalez who is also a level 3, traveled along with Saige Grundman to their first state competition ever.
"They did a great job and came home with their best All-Around yet," coach Valerie Caudle said.
Katie Hurst is a level 5 gymnast who place second on the bars with a 9.3 and seventh in the All-Around with a score of 35.2. Hurst has had great success over the season and her mother, Shawna Hurst said, "Congratulation to my beautiful daughter Katie Hurst who is now the state bars second place champion!! Great job today!! So proud of you!!"
Mackenzie Hall had her best meet yet at the toughest competition of the year. Hall received a 9.15 on the vault placing her third, a 9.175 for third place on the beam, 9.1 for third place and 9.225 on floor for first place. This great combination of scores put Hall at first place in the All-Around with a 36.65.
Caudle said, "Mackenzie is Northern California's 2014 spring level 5 STATE CHAMPION!"
