Two Eureka teens escape getting hit by an arrow

Two Eureka teens were unharmed after nearly being hit by a hunting arrow, according to authorities.

The 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old woman notified Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputies after a hunting arrow landed right in front of them while they were walking near the intersection of Myrtle and Lucas Avenues in Eureka, just before 3 p.m. Saturday. The teens told a responding deputy that there was a gray Nissan Altima with four or five people in it driving by at the time of the incident, according to the release. It's unclear if the arrow was shot from the car.
