A woman reported missing from a Fortuna motel was found safe in Crescent City on Thursday, according to Fortuna police.
Terry Turley, 54, was found in Crescent City and appeared to be safe, FPD Lt. Matt Eberhardt said.
"She was located with help from Crescent City police and the family," he said. "It's unclear if the family turned her cell phone on to locate her or if Turley reached out to them, but they are now being reunited."
Turley was reported missing from the motel she was staying at on Riverwalk Drive on Wednesday when staff found that she was late checking out and her dog was still in the room.
Eberhardt said it is unclear why Turley disappeared from her motel, but her out-of-area family was en route to meet with her to find out what happened.
"We are happy that she was found and is safe," Eberhardt said.
