Eureka man arrested for robbery in Arcata

A Eureka resident was arrested Thursday on suspicion of mugging another man in Arcata, according to a press release from the Arcata Police Department.

Using video footage of the 4 p.m. robbery on the 800 block of 10th Street, officers were able to identify the suspect as Damien David Dunn, 32, a release states.

The victim said the suspect seemed to be under the influence of an unknown substance when he forcibly stole his wallet and checkbook, according to the release. Around 8 p.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputy located Dunn on the 1700 block of Sutter Road in McKinleyville, where he was taken into custody.
