Weather this week: Plenty of sunshine ahead

Prepare for some sunshine on the coast and inland.

Or, at least, that is the prediction.

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts sunny days beginning Monday and continuing through Thursday this week.

Temperatures will remain on the cool side, however.

The NWS is forecasting a high of 54 degrees on Monday in the Humboldt Bay area followed by estimated peaks of 61, 58 and 58 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Anticipate a mostly clear Monday night with a low around 35 degrees and northwest winds around 10 miles per hour. Expect a repeat of that Tuesday evening.

Cloud cover is predicted to return Friday with mostly sunny skies. Daytime highs are expected to reach 53 degrees with a gradual cooling as evening approaches. The forecasted low is set at around 39 degrees with a chance of rain.

Saturday is slated to see party sunny skies with a chance of rain and a high of 53.
