The Fortuna Library focuses on community and literacy to name a couple areas of their dedication. The holiday season is no different and this year they will host Santa during their Christmas story time.

"Children and their families are invited to the Fortuna Library on Friday, Dec. 20 to visit Santa Claus and tell him what they would like this Christmas," said Fortuna Library assistant Jamie Nickerson.

"Last year we had about 15 kids and family members who came to enjoy some holiday stories and visit with Santa," Nickerson said.

Rena Stiver will be at the library to read Christmas stories from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at which time Santa will be available for pictures.

"Those who are interested will receive a free photo of their child with Santa emailed to them. Children will also receive a gift from Santa," said Nickerson.

The Fortuna Library, at 753 14th St., is open Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The library will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
