Redwood Memorial Hospital ball raises record $240K

More than 230 guests attended for Redwood Memorial Hospital's 32nd annual Benefit Ball at the River Lodge in Fortuna on Nov. 2, which helped raise a record $240,000 for the hospital -- including $15,000 from the McLean Foundation, $30,000 from the Albertina Zanzi Living Trust and a $50,000 anonymous donation, according to a press release.

Since its inception, the ball has raised more than $2 million for the hospital, with proceeds going toward the purchase of new medical equipment, including a fetal monitoring system, 4-D ultrasound, digital mobile imaging system, operating room video equipment, 32-slice CT scanner, digital mammography equipment and endoscopy equipment, according to the release. Proceeds from this year's ball will go toward the renovation of the hospital's radiology room and the purchase of state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment.
