The Timber Heritage Association has been busy running speeders at multiple locations this month, with the cars making an appearance at the Fortuna Apple Harvest last weekend and another one this weekend during the Annual Loleta Antique Show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Loleta Fire Hall.

The ride will cover some of the most pristine track recovered by the association, which works to preserve Humboldt's timber history for future generations.

"It is so great to have this stretch of the tracks cleared, and we are very hopeful to get the tracks connected between here and Loleta," the association's Pete Origer said.

To open up the tracks, it takes money and lots of volunteers according to Origer.

As the project moves forward, there will be a need for more fundraising and even more volunteers. For more information, contact the association at P.O. Box 6399 Eureka, CA 95502, visit the website www.timberheritage.org, or call 445-2957.
