As teachers and students readied for their first day of school, one teacher started the day with a simple cup of coffee with her sister and boyfriend, unaware of the life change ahead of her.
Brandon Head used the ruse of wanting to see girlfriend Miranda Kepon's classroom at Redwood Preparatory School, where she now teaches fifth grade. As Kepon walked around the classroom pointing out the areas of study Brandon Head could only think of the jewel he held in his pocket.
As Kepon chattered away Head dropped to one knee and asked for the hand of Redwood Prep's newest teacher in the very classroom she will be inspiring students in their future.
"We are so happy that our first day of school created a very special memory for Miss Kepon!" Lisa Charter said. "Congratulations future Mrs. Head, with such a wonderful start, we are sure to have a wonderful year!"
Lori Head, Brandon Head's mother, is the current second grade teacher at Redwood Prep and the school is looking forward to having two Heads at the school as they're better than one.
"The kids thought it was so cool that they could stand in the actual spot that it happened," Kepon said. "I am glad that I was able to share this moment with them."
