Redwood Empire Golf & Country Club in Fortuna is playing host to a four man scramble in honor of one of its own. Employee Brian Rasmusen has a loving fiancée, Sadie Cartwright, who was recently diagnosed with a rare cerebrovascular disorder. The scramble will take place at the club on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The tournament is being organized by Gregg Senestraro and Ben McWhorter. Individuals can play for $50 and $200 for a four-member team. No worries about being tired after a long weekend -- carts will be provided to ensure that you are well rested and at the top of your swing.

Cartwright was diagnosed with Moyamoya syndrome, which blocks blood flow to the brain. She will be spending the next three to four weeks at Stanford Medical Center. Cartwright is now preparing for her bypass surgery so that blood flow and oxygen can correctly reach her brain. After two surgeries, Cartwright will be in recovery at Stanford.

All proceeds will go to Cartwright and Rasmusen to help with medical and living expenses during treatment. Prizes for winning teams will be awarded and appetizers will follow. Please contact Gregg at 725-5194.
