Is school really ever out? For those who work there, the answer is no. The classrooms may be empty, but the work continues as staff plans for the next year through budgets and training. Redwood Prep is already looking ahead to the next school year with a fundraiser to help with updated playground equipment, school supplies, and funding for staff training on Saturday. They will be holding a garage sale at their school on Ross Hill Road beginning at 8 a.m.

Redwood Prep will be accepting donations Friday at the school between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. They are looking for any garage sale items that are gently used. If you have any questions you can Facebook message them at "Redwood Prep" or call the school at 682-6149.

"Come and pick through treasures this Saturday at the school," Redwood Prep teacher Kim Kendall said. "We will be selling furniture, household items, a refrigerator, tools, craft supplies, and much, much more."

Redwood Preparatory Charter School Board President Jeremy Stanfield said it's great to see the constant level of support.

"The outpouring of these individuals' time and energy just makes you smile and proud to be a part of it," he said.

Kendall said the school will be purchasing Love and Logic staff development curriculum.

"You can visit their website for more info," she said. "The playground equipment is crucial since we don't have a huge playground and the kids need several things during recess and Physical Education time."

Anyone who would like to help organizing things for the sale and running it Saturday can email kkendall@redwoodprep.org.

"The community has been wonderful dropping off items for the sale," said Kendall. "We could really use some help."

Redwood Prep will maintain its current location for the next school year on 1355 Ross Hill Road in Fortuna.
