The Fortuna Fire Department will be the place to be on May 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. as local children come together to help one of their beloved role models in the community, Ed Houseworth.

The children with the supervision of adults who have come together as 'Team Ed Houseworth' are planning a dance. Ed's daughter Abby who attends Toddy Thomas has formed a committee of classmates to help plan the dance details. The dance will be for grades four through eight, from any schools.

The dance will have a cover charge of $5. There will be drinks, snacks, and glow sticks for sale throughout the evening. Music will be provided by Ed's high school classmates, and Mike and Tracy Benbow's seventh-grade daughter, Haley Benbow.

All proceeds will go to "Team Houseworth" to help with uncovered expenses for the family.

Ed is all about community and family and so this dance is themed about "date night" for families. Adults are encouraged to drop their children off to the safe supervised dance environment and go enjoy an evening out together.

If you would like to help out with the event, make a donation, or find out more information contact Team Ed Houseworth on Facebook or Jodi Cook at 499-1111.
