A Western Association of Schools and Colleges review committee recently completed a site visit to Ferndale High School. WASC is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States. The committee's report highlights the following schoolwide strengths, according to a school press release:
1. Caring, competent, and committed teachers provide high-quality instruction which utilizes varied strategies for students to demonstrate mastery.
2. The commitment of school administration, faculty, and counselor to meet the needs of all students by providing academic support, real world experiences, and a vigorous curriculum aligned to the state standards.
3. The safe, clean, and supportive environment encourages a sense of family among administration, faculty, staff, students, and community.
4. The welcoming, friendly, open, and courteous students take pride in their school.
