The newly formed Eagle Prairie Art District held its first Arts on the Avenue event in Rio Dell. The organization is working to bring awareness to the extensive arts in the area.

The objective of the Eagle Prairie Arts District is, "To build relationships with Humboldt County artists, promote artists within Rio Dell, help establish and promote new business in Rio Dell's town center, and develop a vibrant and successful arts community within the Eel River Valley."

Several artists displayed their hand crafted work, shared mouth-watering appetizers, and crossed their fingers for the well organized raffle prizes.

EPAD Secretary Ayala Talpai, shared excitedly, "Stuff is beginning to happen in our little town!" Talpai continued, "Our gathering was delightful and just the beginning."

EPAD President Adam Dias reflected on the first Arts on the Avenue event stating, "This event couldn't have turned out better or be run any smoother.

"The food was fantastic, the raffle was very well organized, the music was great, and the fire dancer was amazing," continued Dias.

The group set up a display of art that reflected the pride and professionalism of its members. They are looking forward to their next event and encourage anyone wanted to get involved in the Eagle Prairie Arts District to attend the Arts Council meeting this evening at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is being held in the Scotia Medical Building through the side entrance.
