Fortuna's First Friday event, featuring local businesses, artists, and musicians, starts at 6 p.m. Friday:
Bartow's Jeweler, 651 12th St., will have stained glass art. Beverage Plus Foods, 1221 Main St., is offering 10 percent off any liquor item. Christy's Heritage Villa, 1125 Main St., will be open late. Cindy's Styling Center, 1021 N St., will be open. Color Impressions, 1010 Main St., will feature art.
Cuddly Bear, at 571 10th St., will have live music acoustic jam night. The Downtown Storefront Art Gallery, on Main Street between 11th and 12th streets, will display a variety of artists. Dakota's Designs will be displayed at Ferndale Jewelers, 1020 Main St. Fortuna Art & Old Things, 1026 Main St., will have display art and books.
Donna Queen will be displaying her photography with the live music of Sarah McClimon & Rahman Abdur at Fortuna Music Mart, 1040 Main St. The Wine Den and Furniture Den, 1156 Main St., will display various artists.
Humboldt Healthy Foods, 899 Main St., will have live music. Krafter's Kozy Korner Gifts, 1103 Main St., will have tie-dye and '60s music. Main Street Art Gallery, 1006 Main St., will have art and live music. Mind Mine, 734 10th St., will stay open late.
Art, photos and music will be at Moore's Sleep World, 906 Main St. in the old Lowe's building. Precision Intermedia, 1012 Main St., will feature art and musical performance. Rain All Day Books, 1136 Main St., will have art and a 10 percent discount on all used books. State Farm Insurance, 755 12th St., will feature a kayak shop. Strehl's Family Shoes, 1155 Main St., will feature oil paintings. Taco Loco, 955 Main St., will have paintings.
Trendz, 1021 Main St., and The Antique Depot, 1122 Main St., will be open late. The Playroom, 1109 Main St., will feature happy hour prices. The Surreal Building, 1100 Main St., will have live music. KJHANZ Fitness and Kettelball, 423 N St. on Fortuna Boulevard, will hold a grand opening.
Artwork on display at this month's First Friday will include the paintings of Sanford Pyron at Moore's Sleep World located at 906 Main St. in the old Low's building.
