Fortuna is continuing to use modern methods to fight hard economic times by having a "Cash Mob" event once a month at a local business. On the last Thursday of the month the Fortuna Cash Mob selects a business to be 'Cash Mobbed' by the community to help promote community support and relationships.

This month the mobbing will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at longtime Fortuna business Country Rose, which is also celebrating their 15-year anniversary. Country Rose, a gift and clothing store, offers a variety of items. Many area residents frequent the store for Holly Yashi jewelry, Webkinz stuffed animals, unique baby and children's clothes, lingerie and more.

Country Rose is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There is plenty of parking throughout the mall parking lot.

Country Rose is located at 737 South Fortuna Blvd. within the Redwood Village Shopping Mall in Fortuna. The Cash Mob event sports a theme of "wear your favorite hat."

Fortuna Cash Mob is not about spending large sums of money, but rather showing support and raising awareness about local businesses in Fortuna.

The community has really come together to support local business and have fun while doing it. Country Rose is excited about the upcoming hat theme as the community has always been outgoing and fun.
