Victoria Bigger was rushing around Hoby's Market in Scotia last week, filling her shopping cart with meat, cheese, crackers, cookies and more. She was using the prize she won as part of the grand opening promotion in conjunction with the Renner fueling station in Scotia.

Bigger works in the Weott Post Office and is already a regular shopper at Hoby's Market in Scotia, so she knew just exactly which grocery items she wanted to select. "It couldn't happen to a nicer person," Renner Petroleum owner Mike Renner said of Bigger. Renner wrote a check for $513.63 to cover the majority of the cost of the items Bigger selected during her three-minute shopping spree.

Only a parking lot separates the Renner Station and the market, and Hoby's owner Herb Colby said the station has been a boost to his business. "It's been incredible," Colby said. "It's doing all it should and it will do more," he added.

Other winners in the Grand Opening Renner station promotion were Kirk Younker of Eureka (dinner for four at the Scotia Inn), and southern Humboldt resident Sarah Kirk, who won a $75 prepaid Renner card.
