$100 in Fortuna Bucks is waiting for the person who submits the winning name for what is now called the Eel River Valley Multigenerational Center in Fortuna.

"The center is looking for a name that will easily and concisely describe the programming and vision of the facility," Start- up Coordinator Sabrina De Lashmutt said. "The Center's vision," she explained, "is to have a facility where many different age groups can meet and participate in an array of programs, classes, and activities."

The facility is located on Newburg Road in Fortuna and will provide a central location for all age groups to have their "own space" as well as common spaces where generations can come together.

The Name the Center Contest is open to all youth and adults inn Humboldt County, and the deadline to submit an entry is June 15, 2012. Entries can be emailed to or mailed or hand-delivered to Name Our Center Contest, 1336 Main St., Fortuna, CA 95540.
