Wine tasting benefit to support Estelle Fennell

Whitethorn Winery and Elk Prairie Vineyard will offer outstanding wines for your tasting pleasure on Saturday, May 5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Country Picnic and Rally to benefit Estelle Fennell's campaign for supervisor.

Tasha McKee, Whitethorn Winery's celebrated owner and winemaker, traditionally hosts a late May open house and wine tasting. She's excited about coupling her event this year with the May 5 Estelle benefit where her passion for pairing good wine and food will also highlight the sustenance of political self-empowerment of Humboldt's 2nd district.

Whitethorn Winery will offer Pinot Noir barrel tasting and current releases. Alan Estrada owner of Elk Prairie Vineyard and another of Southern Humboldt's talented winemakers, will be pouring Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc.

Come enjoy an afternoon of community celebration at 545 Shelter Cove Road, Whitethorn (inside the Whitethorn Construction yard) featuring good food and wine, live and silent auctions, and entertainment by Friends of Thorn and The Lost Coast Marimba Band. Don't miss this opportunity for up-close, extended political dialog with Estelle. For more information call Sita Formosa 986-7761 or Lela McKee Friel 986-9939.
