'Christmas Now & Then' in stories and songs; Dec. 18 program at Fortuna Monday Club

The second annual benefit performance by the Beaux & Belles will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m., at the Monday Club, 610 Main Street, Fortuna, to benefit Fortuna Senior Services' programs. This concert is suitable for the entire family. The Victorian-costumed group will sing traditional carols along with some modern-day songs. The audience will be invited to sing along with traditional carols, Away in The Manger and I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In. Music will be interspersed with readings of Christmas-themed poems and stories. By special request from those who attended last year another section from Stubby Pringle's Christmas will be read.

The performance is co-sponsored by the Fortuna Concert Series. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted to benefit Fortuna Senior Services' programs.

Beaux & Belles' accompanist Carol Masterson on piano will be joined by Janet Sclar on the violin for two instrumental pieces. Nola Sharp on flute will join Carol and Janet accompanying several of the carols that the group will be singing. For details, call Nanette Heidtman at 725-3231.
