The national average in the U.S. is at its lowest since Feb. 25, but remains at record highs for this time of year.
Prices for regular gas in Fortuna at the beginning of this week averaged at $3.93 per gallon for regular. Fortunans are paying around 24 cents more per gallon compared to the state average; that's an increase of approximately 4 cents in the past week. In Garberville, the price of gas at the start of this week was $3.95 per gallon, unchanged from the week before.
