Wildlife refuge in Loleta announces Guadagno scholarship

Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Guadagno family have announced the release of the Richard J. Guadagno Memorial Scholarship application materials for academic year 2011-2012. In 2010, the Guadagno family contributed an additional $50,000 to the fund with the hope that through future donations and fundraising the fund may serve Rich's memory in perpetuity. This year, up to $5,000 will be available for grant awards to up to four qualified students. Preference will be given to projects that take place on and directly benefit the Humboldt Bay NWR followed by Humboldt Bay, associated watersheds of Humboldt County, California, and the U.S.
