New Life Christian School will be holding their 13th annual dinner and auction on Oct. 18 at the Fortuna River Lodge. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. and dessert and live auction at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and available at 1202 Ross Hill Road in Fortuna or by calling 725-9236.

”New Life Christian School is a non-profit entity offering strong academic programs for preschool through grade 12,” Susan Natt of NLCS said. “In 1998 North Coast Community Christian School and Christian Life School combined to form a non-denominational Christian school. They offer small class sizes with emphasis upon excellence in academics and personal development is a priority. As a nonprofit school, we do not receive government funding or subsidies.”

The annual dinner is the largest fundraiser for the school to meet the needs of the students. There will be over 100 silent auction items which have been donated by local businesses and community members. You can preview the silent auction items when the doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 or visit the school's website at www.NewLifeChristianSchool.org.

The meal will consist of lasagna, salad and garlic bread. There will be a coffee bar with a variety of desserts.

The live auction has 25 items ranging from a San Francisco Giants package, guided fishing trip, vacation packages, to a one-week timeshare in Hawaii, Mexico, or wherever your heart desires. Balloons will be sold throughout the event containing prizes including gas cards. Balloons can be purchased for $10.

”This is a great fundraiser that keeps our school going,” NLCS secretary Ann Selby said. “The community has been awesome in the way that they support the school. We have businesses that faithfully donate every year. We live in a great community and we could not do this without them. We so appreciate the businesses and community members that support us.”

”This is a really fun and entertaining event where people of our community can gather, have fun, fellowship and bid on some amazing items!” Natt said.
