Caltrans has announced that construction will begin the week of July 8 for a sidewalk repair project on State Route 211 in Ferndale. Project work will extend from Ocean Avenue to Tennyson Avenue, and work hours will be 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., weekdays, according to a Caltrans press release.

Lane, shoulder, and sidewalk closures will be in effect. Motorists can expect traffic delays of up to 10 minutes. Parking restrictions will also be in effect adjacent to work sites. Work will not occur on weekends, holidays, or during special events such as the Humboldt County Fair.

Sidewalk repairs will be limited to addressing tripping hazards at spot locations. Only sidewalk panels will be replaced. Curb and driveway work is not included in the project, according to the release.

The contractor for this sidewalk repair project is RAO Construction Company of Eureka.
