Home-based businesses in Fortuna will be able to show off their products and services at a first-of-its-kind expo on March 3 at the River Lodge Conference Center.

”There are more than 160 home-based businesses in Fortuna,” said Dianna Crow, executive director of the Fortuna Business Improvement District, which is hosting the event. “Many of these businesses are sources of untapped goods and services in our own backyard,” Crow said.

”Some retailers will have items for sale,” she said, urging everyone who attends to shop local and support local businesses. “Anyone and everyone are welcome to attend and meet our Fortuna neighbors.”

Admission is free.

”This gathering will provide Fortuna home-based businesses with a three-hour storefront, and give the public a window view of their business,” Crow said.

Home-based businesses in Fortuna offer services and products including lawn and garden care, travel accommodations, jewelry, private transportation, custom clothing and embroidery, upcycled products, contractors, and personal interpreters.

There is still room for Fortuna's home-based businesses to take part in this unique expo, and participation is located to Fortuna home-based businesses only. The booths are available at no cost to home-based businesses in Fortuna. “If you are an industry that would be better represented outside, there is that availability too at the River Lodge Conference Center,” Crow said.

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday, March 3, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, please call the FBID at 725-9261 or email fbid@fortunabusiness.com
