9:30 a.m. – Rick Hasen
Professor Richard L. Hasen is the Chancellor's Professor of Law and Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. Hasen is a nationally-recognized expert in election law and campaign finance regulation, and is co-author of a leading casebook on election law. Hasen writes the Election Law Blog, and recently published “The Voting Wars: From Florida 2000 to the Next Election Meltdown.”
10:30 a.m. – Howard Kurtz
Howard Kurtz is Washington bureau chief for The Daily Beast — where he writes the Spin Cycle blog — hosts “Reliable Sources” on CNN and contributes to Daily-Download.com. The longtime media reporter and columnist for The Washington Post, Kurtz is the author of five books.
He will be joined by Lauren Ashburn, editor-in-chief of Daily-Download.com, president of Ashburn Media and a former managing editor for USA Today and Gannett Broadcasting.
11:30 a.m. – Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder
Republican Rick Snyder was elected governor of Michigan in 2010 with 58 percent of the vote in his first run for office. Snyder previously was a venture capitalist, and before that had been president and CEO of Gateway computers and a partner with accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, which became PricewaterhouseCoopers. In his first two years in office he’s cut $1.8 billion from Michigan’s budget and replaced the state’s business tax code with a 6 percent flat tax, and supported President Obama’s effort to help the auto industry.

Paul Schatz, as president and chief investment officer of Heritage Capital, LLC in Woodbridge, Conn. developed and manages the firm’s currently offered investment programs. He provides expert commentary on national and global investment markets and how public policy decisions affect market performance for segments on CNBC, Yahoo! Finance and his blog, Invest for Tomorrow, which is featured in the New Haven Register's Community Media Lab.
