Team Hope will be at Ray's Food Place in Fortuna on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. raising money for their St. Jude Give Thanks team.

Community members are encouraged to bring their dirty or clean vehicles for a good washing to help support St. Jude Walk-A-Thon Team Hope.

Team Hope captain Sarah Reback shares, “We have been moved by the inspirational stories of the precious kids treated there. That is why we are participating in the St. Jude Give Thanks Walk.”

Team members Sarah Reback, Rachel Gonzales, Heather Kelley, and Joy Victorine will be participating in the local St. Jude walk on Nov. 17 at the Bayshore Mall. The team would like to raise $1,000 for the walk and are almost one-third of the way there.

Donations for the walk help to pay the cost for any child treated at St. Jude and speed their research discoveries directly from their labs to the bedside of patients, doctors, and scientists. It is because of this process that St. Jude states, “One child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved worldwide.”

To donate to Team Hope, visit their official St. Jude donation page at www.fundraising.stjude.org and type in “Team Hope” from the North Coast. Also listed is “Team Like Nobody Else Day Spa” that is based in Ferndale. The team captain is Stacy Craig, who is well known for her work with Ethan & Teyler Totes created in honor of her son Ethan, who has been fighting his own battle with cancer.

Team Like Nobody Else Day Spa is the North Coast leader at this time on the official St. Jude Walk page with more than $1,300 in donations. Team Hope is holding strong in second place with more than $300 in donations, and hopes to join Craig's Team in the $1,000 mark after the car wash Saturday.

To help support Team Hope, go to Ray's Food Place on Saturday or drop by with a donation anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
