Portland's indie-folk group Shook Twins will deliver a folksy night of harmonious good times on Wednesday at the 'Playhouse. The quirky trio takes inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, Shawn Colvin, Andrew Bird, MGMT, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver and Ani Difranco among many others.

North Carolina nu-funk sextet Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band will bring out the booty-shakers on Thursday at HumBrews. Think George Clinton-meets-Galactic with a shake or two of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lettuce.

Locals Acufunkture will take their medicinal funk to the Jam for a back-to-school party this thirsty Thursday. Entry is free for the ladies and five bucks for the fellas.

Eureka blues quartet the Uptown Kings will head down to the town of Phillipsville on Friday for a night of dance-inducin' jams.

Washington stoner-rockers Mos Generator will energize HumBrews on Saturday with their melodic vocals and heavy riffs. Arcata rockers Lord Ellis will also perform.

What: Deerhoof

Where: The Depot, HSU

Admission: $15 general, $10 students

Influenced by TV on the Radio and The Flaming Lips, Bay Area noise-rockers Deerhoof will play songs from their new LP “Breakup Song” on Sunday in The Depot at HSU. They've taken the stage and collaborated with the likes of the 'Lips, Radiohead, Beck, The Roots, David Bowie, Bloc Party and Gnarls Barkley.
