Members of the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce feasted on culinary delights prepared by California Conservation Corps chef Julian Lennon at the monthly mixer held last week at the Fortuna CCC center. Attendees were asked to choose from three different delicious treats, and it was the pasta and shrimp combination that was the crowd's favorite. That will be the main course served at the August CCC Banquet in Fortuna.

Mixer attendees answered questions about Fortuna businesses and the chosen ones received prizes of CCC ball caps, T-shirts, and other items.

During the mixer, the Fortuna Center was somewhat deserted as a majority of the CCCs housed at that location were away fighting wildfires. Fortuna CCC Center Director Larry Notheis talked to those gathered at the mixer about a variety of CCC projects that have been completed this year and some that are still underway.
