Everyone is invited to join the churches in Ferndale for the annual Community Thanksgiving Service at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24 at the Assumption Church located at 546 Berding Street in Ferndale. Over the years, the Thanksgiving Service unites pastors and representatives from each church in Ferndale and the community to give thanks and praise to God. Thanksgiving Day is the most celebrated day in the United States, so please come and join us. Ferndale's Betty Diehl's Thanksgiving Choir will sing at the Service.
An offering (or donation) will be collected to help St. Joseph's Food Pantry in Fortuna and the Eureka Rescue Mission. Also, Ferndale 4-H's Community Pride Group will have containers at the Church for sock donations for their “White Socks 4 Blue Angels” to help the homeless stay warm this winter. 2. Fortuna United Methodist Church
On Sunday, Nov. 20, we will be thinking about what we are thankful for, sharing something tangible that symbolizes that thanks. Scripture will be from Deuteronomy 8: 7-18 and Luke,
3. Loleta Community Church
The Loleta Community Church is at 228 Church Street in Loleta across from the Loleta Bakery and the train tracks. The church offers regular Sunday services with doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and fellowship. The service begins at 10 a.m. and goes to 11 a.m. A Children's Ministry is available with two Sunday school groups offered for children ages 1 to 12. 4. Calvary Chapel of Fortuna
Calvary Chapel of Fortuna will begin the chapter by chapter and verse by verse study of the book of Hebrews on Sunday, Nov. 27. We have two Sunday morning services. One is at 9 a.m., and the other is at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel is located at 914 9th Street in Fortuna.
5. Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Eel River Valley
The main branch of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the greater Eel River Valley is located at 2301 Rohnerville Road in Fortuna. The Fortuna church has services on Saturdays; Sabbath School is held at 10 a.m. with worship at 11:15 a.m. Call 725-6164 for details, or e-mail: email@example.com.

Pastor Dawson Wheeler preached his final sermon on Sunday on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. They are relocating (317 Allen Way, Turlock, CA 95380) and planing to return to evangelism and are seeking your support.
Our potluck farewell for Dawson and Jeannette was well attended and enjoyed. Many thanks to Matt and Rebbecca Wilcox for the lovely decorations and serving preparation, and our ever faithful sister Vivian Long.
Thursday's 10:30 a.m., Women's Prayer and Share Time led by Linda Mason continues with videos in the Beth Moore series, “Summoned from the Sheepfold.” Join us as we learn to be like David, "a man after God's own heart.”
Men's Thursday 7 p.m., Bible Study will be held in the sanctuary.
Friday Night 6 p.m., Kids Club Movie will be shown in the sanctuary.
Sunday school for all ages is offered at 9:30 a.m. Jean Nichols will lead adults in the sanctuary with “God's Priorities and Values for Developing a Godly Character.” Key verse is Psalm 101:2 "I will be careful to lead a blameless life.” Meet and greet at 10:30 a.m., followed by worship in song led by Mike Gibbs.
The Church opens at 5:30 p.m., for private prayer. 6 p.m., service will begin with congregational worship followed by sermon and testimonies.
Tuesday 2 p.m., the Quilting Ladies will meet in the Sewing Room.
Wednesday 7 p.m., Bible Study will continue in the Book of Luke, led by Assistant Pastor the Rev. Dee Neher. Karen Nichols will treat the kids to “Likeable Learning” in Kids Club.

7. Fortuna Church of the Nazarene
Pastor Richard Gatlin, Fortuna Church of the Nazarene will lead the congregation in the 9:30 a.m. services which opens with contemporary music and congressional singing. Come join us in our study of Psalms 5:11-12, "But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy.”
This week's special giving opportunity is on Shoe Boxes filled with clothes and supplies for the Rev. Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse Ministry to needy children around the world. Small groups will resume their Sunday Night meetings, call 725-3151 for details.
Sunday School for all ages follows refreshments in Solid Grounds Cafe. Tuesday Sisters will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the Book Room. Fellowship Dinners are Wednesday Night at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m., by Bible Study with pastor Gatlin teaching the adult class and Jackie Lipscomb the ladies group.
