Callie Brodt has been recently honored by the Soroptimists of Eel River Valley for her contributions to community service. She is the daughter of Brian and Merritt Brodt and is a student at Ferndale High School. She has helped Betty's Blue Angels by having a clothing drive, bake sale, and collecting items for the homeless. Callie has donated several community service hours working with Betty Chin, and has been a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA) for four years. She has held office for three years with that group.

She has been historian, secretary and is currently the president. She raises jersey heifers, turkeys and grows her own garden. Callie sells her animals at the fair. As a member of FFA, Callie has received several recognitions including Star Farmer, Star Greenhand, Star Student for 2009 and 2010. She was awarded the project competition gold award for 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. Callie has been part of the Associated Student Body (ASB) for three years serving as class representative, dance commissioner, and is currently the president.

Callie is a member of S Club which is a service club sponsored by the Soroptimist organization. She is also a California Scholarship Federation member. She attends Hydesville Community Church. Callie's hopes to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo majoring in dairy science. She would like to work on the dairy there and someday own her own dairy. Callie was presented with a certificate of recognition. The Soroptimist organization is known worldwide for inspiring, promoting and helping women in all aspects of life.
